Waterproof Memberane

Waterproofing Bitumen Membrane: ISOGUM
The products with thickness from 2 to 5.5 mm membrane consist of single or dual layer(s) are impregnated with modified bitumen. The layers can be thermo-bond/needled polyester mat and glass fiber tissue.
Modified bitumen consists of bitumen and modifiers such as Atactic polypropylene (APP) or Styrene-Butadiene Styrene (SBS). APP gives rigidity and acceptable tear resistance whereas rubber additive gives more elastic benefits. Our products which containing SBS are called ISOGUM S and the others with APP are called ISOGUM BBP (Type A).
Due to the different type of bituminous mixture and also to the reinforcement layers, the waterproofing membranes offers different properties of mechanical resistance, elasticity, cold flexibility and durability.
Thin and transparent film is stuck to bottom of the felt during manufacturing on all torch-on products which hinders sticking of produced felt to itself when rolled up during the packaging process.
To decrease the destructive effects of UV-ray of sunlight, protecting from physical damage, the products are covered with colorful slate flake mineral or are faced with aluminum foil. This also ensures easy unrolling of the product during installing.span

Applications
ISOGUM is typically used for water insulating of:

  • spanRoofs
  • spanTerraces
  • spanCourtyards
  • spanBasement walls
  • spanTunnels
  • spanBridges
  • spanSanitary service

ISOGUM can also be used for coating pipe lines to protect them against rust and corrosion.

Double layer ISOGUM

This type of product consists of two reinforcement layers, glass fiber tissue and polyester mat. The product is produced in two types, plain and aluminum foil faced. Plain product only has one thin polyethylene film for easy unrolling. The aluminum foil reflects sunlight; hence the products are stable in contact with UV rays of sunlight. The double layer ISOGUM is produced in 3 and 4 mm thickness which called LA3 and LA4 respectively.

Single layer thermo bond ISOGUM
has offered one-layer ISOGUM including thermo bond polyester felt. This product is less flexible but has outstanding tensile strength and is applicable where the high tensile strength is demanded.

Stitch-bonded polyester ISOGUM (LP4)

In this type of product, the tensile strength of the stitch-bonded polyester is used and the glass fiber tissue is removed. The lower softening point and using more bitumen, combined with the proper weight, makes it easy to install this product on walls and sloping surfaces. It should be noted that the use of aluminum foil with a width of one meter as a surface cover will preserve the integrity of the appearance of the insulation, especially in the exterior walls of the building.

ISOPASTA
This product is a water emulsion bitumen product which is paste shape and after drying is not water soluble anymore. Coating of concrete with ISOPASTA prolongs life spanof concrete. Mixed with chopped glass fiber, ISOPASTA can act as a water insulating membrane by itself. Regardless to the quality of surface, using of ISOPASTA increase the adhesion force of ISOGUM to the surface. ISOPASTA can be dilute with adding appropriate amounts of water.

ISOFONDO
ISOFONDO is a solvent based bitumen primer which forms a sticky and waterproof bituminous layer after solvent evaporation. ISOFONDO is consumed for sealing and waterproofing, protecting of cement, metal pipes, and tanks against corrosion and deterioration. It can also be used as adhesive for stick of galvanized or aluminum foils. ISOFONDO can be dilute with adding appropriate solvent (thinner/gasoline) to it.
